Darcast was founded in 1915 under the name Dartmouth Auto Castings. At that time, the Company manufactured a wide range of cast components for the automotive market.
In 1950, the Company began manufacturing cast crankshafts using greensand technology.
In 1965, the Company produced the first cast crankshafts using shell mould technology.
From 1965
onwards, the Company focussed
all of its energy and resources
on developing shell-moulded cast
crankshaft technology. This long
history has culminated in Darcast
being recognised as a world leader
in the manufacture of cast crankshafts.
